Chefs put their taste buds to the test during an event to highlight the importance of getting a healthy diet.

Sunrise Senior Living, in Edgwarebury Lane, Elstree, invted people to an afternoon tea of home made cakes created using fresh ingredients.

The event formed part of a ‘Taste of Sunrise’ national campaign, which was hosted as part of the care and health industry's nutrition and hydration week.

Natalie Crampton, director of community relations at Sunrise of Elstree, said: “We all had a wonderful day. It was a great opportunity to celebrate the Taste of Sunrise and a chance to educate people about the need for a nutritious diet as you grow older.

“We want to thank our dining team who work hard every day to ensure every single resident receives exceptional food which meets their individual needs, and that our residents enjoy the highest quality of care. We are so proud of them.

“Dining for a lot of our residents is the focal part of the day and it is important that what they are served gives them something to look forward to.”
