Chancellor George Osborne has announced that the Elstree Way Corridor will be given £3m.
Hertsmere Borough Council has been ordered to build 3,896 homes in the next 15 years– and 1,000 of these will be in the Elstree Way Corridor.
In today’s budget, the chancellor announced that the £3m investment will be used for expanding infrastructure, land, remediation and accelerating the development.
Oliver Dowden, parliamentary candidate for Hertsmere Conservatives, said: “This is a welcome Budget boost for Borehamwood.
"The money will help us cope with the extra pressure on our infrastructure from developing the Elstree Way Corridor.
"With unemployment down in Hertsmere by more than a half under the Conservatives, this is more evidence that our long-term economic plan is benefitting Borehamwood.”
