Graffiti was scrawled over a park's bins and doors.
Police are now appealing for information about the criminal damage in Aberford Park, Brook Road, Borehamwood.
Seven marks were left on the bins, doors and signs of the park.
All markings have now been removed by Hertsmere Borough Council and police are continuing to investigate.
Councillor Jean Heywood, who is responsible for environment and transport, said: “We take a lot of pride in all our beautiful parks across Hertsmere, and Aberford Park is one of six to have recently retained its prestigious Green Flag award.
“We know how important our parks are to our local communities as places to rest, relax or exercise, so I’d urge anyone with information about this incident to contact police immediately. Richard Johnson, Safer Neighbourhood Team Inspector said:
“We have been working closely with the council to remove the graffiti quickly and our Safer Neighbourhood Team has been carrying out extra patrols to deter any repeat incidents.”
Witnesses are asked to call police on 101.
