Lottery players scooped £1,000 when their postcode was selected as a winner.

Two lucky winners will be collecting £1,000 from the Postcode Lottery after a Harrow postcode was selected during the draw on Monday, February 23.

Samantha Wintz, 39, has taken part for several years and was one of two Wealdstone winners.

She said: “At first I didn’t believe it, I thought it could have been one of those pranks or scams so I just ignored it. But when they called me the next day to tell me I had won, I realized it was actually real and I was a winner.

“Not everyone believes in the lottery and people think it’s a waste of money, but I’m always telling people to get involved.

“I’m so happy that it was my time to win, but I’m definitely going to keep playing in the hope I one day win the jackpot and get the big prize.”

With her wedding coming up in May, Miss Wintz and her family will use the cash to help pay for the big day.

She added: “We’re not having a big wedding, but the money will be a big help to be able to put towards it - and buy a few nice things for myself of course.

“The kids were very happy but I’ve not told my partner yet, so it’ll be a big surprise for him.”

A second Wealdstone winner has not yet come forward.
