A Christian group will celebrate 20 years of holding regular lunches for the elderly.

The first Pinner Association of Churches Welcome Lunch was held in February 1995, and since that date six lunches have been held every year for older people in Pinner who live alone or are usually housebound.

Around 70 elderly people receive written invitations to the lunches, and a team of 24 drivers go out to pick up those who need a lift and bring them to the Methodist Church in Love Lane.

To celebrate the lunches' 20th anniversary on February 17, there will be a special cake along with entertainment from a group of singers from Cannon Lane Methodist Church and tributes by members of the clergy.

The team organising the lunch is still led by founders Elizabeth Catto, Valerie Hastie, Sue Charnley and Rosemary Mortimer.

If you know anyone who would like an invitation to the welcome lunches, contact Elizabeth Catto 020 8868 8911.
