An entrepreneur is looking for a generous warehouse owner who can donate space for a humanitarian project.

Rosalind Bluestone, of Bullhead Road, Borehamwood, set up community interest company GOODS4GOODS in July 2014 so she could send boxes of consumer goods to families in impoverished countries.

The company is supported by companies such as Harrods, Nike, Next and Regatta, who often donate large quantities of goods which are then sent on to countries such as Ukraine.

Now the entrepreneur is hoping to find a warehouse space to store some of the smaller items that are donated until the company is able to fill a truck.

She said: “I had a warehouse that was funded by another charity but I have started this from scratch and so need my own space. I have been offered a free warehouse space in Barking, but it’s not local enough to run this programme.

“Having had more than 100 local volunteers in my last role, I need them back to help me in this area. It would be so useful to have more volunteers to help sort clothes, pacing things in boxes and load them on to the truck.”

Mrs Bluestone recently raised £3,040 using a crowd-funding website to send the company’s first truck off to the Ukraine – which arrived in the country today stacked full of goods for the communities in need.

She added: “That was the first truck we’ve sent on our own so we’re really chuffed, and we have already sent out £630,000 of goods that have gone out to communities in need.

“Getting a warehouse would mean helping more people, having more access to goods and being able to store small items- it would really help.”
