Landowners are being asked if they would be prepared to sell or redevelop their land for new housing developments.
Hertsmere Borough Council is currently reviewing its housing and land availability assessment to identify land available for potential housing developments up until 2027.
Planning authorities are required to maintain a supply of land for housing, and a land availability assessment is used to help identify these sites and assess their suitability.
The council carried out an initial study in 2010, which was then updated in 2011, and results from the latest questionnaire will inform future site allocations.
Landowners in the borough are now being sent questionaire in order to find out whether they are likely to redevelop land for housing or commercial use over the next 15 years.
