Waste and recycling collections in Hertsmere will change slightly during the holiday period.

During the first week of the festive season, there will be no changes to the schedule on, Monday 22, Tuesday 23 and Wednesday December 24.

Bins due to be collected on Thursday, December 25 will collected on Saturday, 27 December and those to be collected on Friday, December 26 will either be collected on Saturday, 27 or Monday, December, 29.

Hertsmere Borough Council advises residents to leave to leave their bin and box out on the first day.

There will be no changes to schedule on Monday 29, Tuesday 30 and Wednesday December 31.

Bins due to be collected on Thursday, January 1 will be collected on Friday, January 2 and those that should be collected on Friday, January 2 will be collected on Saturday, January 3.

Normal collections will resume Monday, January 5.

Residents have been advised not to put Christmas cards and wrapping paper in their blue box or brown bin, and instead take them to their nearest recycling point.

In Borehamwood, there will be a recycling point at the civic offices, in Shenley they can be recycled at Andrews Close and in Radlett there will be a recycling point at Newberries car park, Watling Street.

There will also be a real Christmas tree shredding service available between 11am and 2pm at Newberries car park on Thursday, January 8 and at The Venue in Borehamwood on January 8.
