Detective Inspector Matt Phillips said: “I would like to raise awareness around a recent number of thefts from vehicles that have been parked on driveways and the roadside. There are some simple measures people can take to help avoid becoming a victim of this crime.”

“We will be employing a number of tactics to tackle these crimes, including both overt and covert tactics, however the public can assist us greatly by ensuring they follow some very basic advice and by reporting any suspicious activity to the police as soon as possible.

“Remember to make sure you lock your vehicle and remove all property from it before leaving it.”

Anyone with information about these thefts is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.
