A pair of scaffolders have had their business recognised in an awards ceremony.

Alliance Intelligent Scaffolding won the title of Hertfordshire small business of the year at the Hertfordshire Business Awards last week.

Justin Wall, 43, of Burghley Avenue in Borehamwood, and Daniel Yorke, 33, of Gibbons Close in Borehamwood, set up the business in 2011 after leaving their full time jobs to pursue their dream career.

Judges praised the pair for taking previous judges’ advice to heart and learning from past mistakes.

They added: “Their enthusiasm and passion for what they do was so palpable, it was infectious and no doubt a large part of why they have flourished and become the success they are today.

“They have a strong vision of what they are and who they want to be, whilst keeping their feet firmly on the scaffolding.

“It is refreshing to see an established trade in a fresh, modern and extremely professional light.”

Director Mr Wall attended the prestigious ceremony with his wife, held at Knebworth Barns last Thursday evening.

After the event, he said:"Entering these awards gives us a fabulous opportunity to inspect, dissect and correct our business from the inside out. We use the process to look retrospectively, currently, and in the future at all aspects of our business, and to highlight areas in which we wish to improve, grow and develop.

“We are so delighted to have won the small business of the year award."
