Thieves stole jewellery and an iPad from elderly people in a burglary at a Radlett home.
The thieves broke into the victim's home by smashing a rear window between 3pm and 6pm on Saturday.
Items which were stolen included a 22 carat gold men's Albert watch chain engraved with 'J.W. 1921'.
The box and watch bar were also stolen, as well as a gold chain with a locket containing a picture of one of the victim's parents, a coloured stone necklace, a black iPad 2 and cash.
Investigator Jordan Carter from Operation Manhunt, a Hertfordshire Constabulary unit that specialises in burglaries against elderly victims, said: "Understandably the elderly victims of this crime have been left extremely upset. The items taken hold a great deal of sentimental value and I am appealing to anyone who believes they may know of the items' whereabouts to contact me."
Anyone with information should contact the police on 101 quoting Operation Manhunt and crime reference J1/14/3712, or can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
