A Radlett-based fitness initiative left the competition far behind when it won a health award.

Men’s health and fitness programme ManAlive won the prize for best sports, health and fitness group at the prestigious national What's On 4 Me 2014 Awards.

The What's On 4 award programmes are now in their eighth year and celebrate the best activities from throughout the UK - both for kids and adults - as nominated and voted for by the UK public.

ManAlive, which hosts training sessions at the Tabard Rugby Club in Radlett, came out on top after more than 1,000 groups were nominated from around the country.

Founder and trainer Craig O’Toole, from Kings Langley, said: "I am absolutely delighted to have won such a prestigious award. These awards are voted for by the public and so they mean a lot.

“We’ve only been in existence a year but a lot of hard work has gone on from coaches and member alike over that time. Without them I’m just a guys with an idea, they’ve brought life to it.

“I firmly believe that if you want to be successful you need to be around like minded and successful people. And I’m lucky enough to have a team of coaches and members that are just that.”
