A Hertfordshire NHS Trust has won an award for its ‘vision and dedication’.

Representatives of Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust's acute day treatment unit and the trust board joined hundreds of staff from across the NHS at the Health Service Journal awards ceremony.

The board won the award for board leadership, with judges commending its vision and dedication to ensuring individuals suffering from mental ill health issues were treated equally to those with physical illnesses.

They were also impressed by the board’s "strong commitment to equality and diversity that is having a real impact on service delivery" as well as "excellent use of feedback."

The unit was one of eleven finalists in the innovation in mental health category.
