An agreement to keep Police Community Support Officers on the beat in Hertsmere has been renewed.
Hertsmere Borough council is continuing its £128,000 a year contribution to policing, as chief executive Donald Graham and chief inspector Tannis Perks signed a renewal today.
As part of the agreement, Hertfordshire Constabulary has pledged to contribute the same amount.
Chief Inspector Perks added: “I am delighted that Hertsmere Borough Council has pledged to continue its support for PCSOs.
“We have a strong team of PCSOs in the Safer Neighbourhood Teams across Hertsmere who work tirelessly to keep our communities safer. A large amount of their time is spent out on the streets in their areas, speaking with residents, dealing with anti-social behaviour and importantly, providing a visual deterrent to criminals.”
