A teenager was picked to recite a ‘peace prayer’ in front of the Queen and the Royal family at a Remembrance Day event.
Jacob Tucker, who lives in Mill Hill, read a multi-faith prayer at the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday.
Also attending the event were Prime Minister David Cameron, Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and Labour leader Ed Miliband.
The 16-year-old was picked to represent the Jewish community by his school, Haberdashers’ Askes, in Elstree.
He was also one of seven army cadets of different faiths to take part, alongside Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh and Buddhist teenagers.
During the ceremony, to remember the fallen heroes of the First World War, he read: “To pray to the Lord of Hosts for that day when nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore."
