A charity has raised around £20,000 with a gift fayre and poker day.

Charity Aims2Cure raised £20,000 for research into MS after organising successful gift fayre in The Village Hotel, Elstree, where they attracted more than 450 people who all turned out shop and to support a well deserved cause.

The Charity organised two events in one day, beginning with the fayre with 35 stalls selling a wide variety of goods from home and china ware, fashion and jewellery, pet accessories, beautiful gifts for the home and beauty products.

The charity also organised for a well know clairvoyant Lee Van Zyl ,who reads the cards for the stars, to attend – who was soon booked out with more than 40 readings.

Once the gift fayre closed, more than 60 players participated in the night of poker with all the takings donated to the Charity and Nicholas Rishover taking the title.

A spokesman for the charity said: “Thanks must go to all companies that donated prizes to the auction including the Pelham Group for the luxury suitcases and The Grove Hotel for their wonderful golf day.

“Two of our amazing volunteers, spent hours baking and donated the most incredible cakes to sell, from lime and honey to cinnamon and apple, malteser to crunchy and cookie cake.

“One delighted stall holder was over the moon with his takings for the day when he hit his £1000 target and immediately increased his charitable donation to the charity.”
