Entries for this year’s Times & Independent Series Mitzvah Day competition came in thick and fast.
From bulb planting in Shenley to designing cards to giving blood in Golders Green, we have heard from hundreds of good causes requesting our help.
The competition for our team to find a good deed to carry out on November 16 drew to a close yesterday, and it is now down to the panel – group editor Martin Buhagiar, Mitzvah Day founder Laura Marks and MP Matthew Offord to decide what our challenge should be. Results will be announced next week.
In 2013, 35,000 took part – at least 10,000 more than in previous years. This year, it is hoped 500 more organisations, including offices, schools, mosques, churches and synagogues, will take part.
Keep an eye out on the Times and Independent Series websites for news on Mitzvah Day activities taking place in north London over the coming weeks.
