Fewer households will require the council's permission to carry out works to trees following a re-evaluation of a tree perseveration order.
Hertsmere Borough council has completed a major exercise to re-survey the trees across the entire former Shenley Hospital, on the Potters Park site in Shenley, as the original preservation order of 1988 had become outdated.
The original preservation order has now been replaced by six smaller orders which are more practical and manageable for the size of the area.
