A community group will join 35,000 people supporting good causes on Mitzvah Day.

Volunteers from the Shenley Park Community Group are calling on local people and users of Shenley Park to do their bit for the park’s trust and Noah's Ark Children Hospice by planting trees and bulbs on Mitzvah Day.

As a reward for their hard work, organisers are inviting all green-fingered volunteers to attend a free concert in the evening with performances from Gabby Jacobs Niman, Talia Welka and Lauren Seres.

The projects will involve planting up to 500 trees and bulbs in Shenley Park and helping collect more than 200 gifts for children with life threatening conditions and their families supported by Noah's Ark Children's Hospice.

Organiser Rochelle Newington, supported by friends Channa Igby, Natalie and William Susman of Shenley Estates, said: "Mitzvah Day reminds us just what a difference we can make in a positive way to others by giving such a little of our time - a few hours.

“I believe local people will want to support these events as they will have so much fun. The park is enjoyed by so many people every day and this will make it even more beautiful.

“To be able to bring a gift for Noah's Ark children will give so much pleasure to a child who has so much to go through.”

This Mitzvah Day Projects are open to anybody, however booking is essential. For more information email rochellejnewington@uwclub.net
