A family of five generations totalling more than 80 members gathered to celebrate a great great grandfather’s birthday.
Len Cockram has lived in Manor Way, Borehamwood for around 70 years - and the 95-year-old celebrated his birthday with his extensive family gathered in one place for the first time.
During his time in Borehamwood, Mr Cockram has brought up 11 children and has 30 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren, who all gathered at the Three Ways community centre this weekend to celebrate his 95th birthday.
Son Kenneth Cockram, who was brought up in his father’s house at Manor Way, said that the weekend was the first time the family had managed to find a place large enough for them all to get together.
He added: “He had a fantastic party, everyone had a great time. The family came from miles around and we still have some relatives staying with us now.”
The family also gathered at a Gala Bingo event on Saturday night as part of the birthday celebrations, while lifelong Gunners fan Len also received a signed letter from Arsenal FC congratulating him on his birthday.
