Teachers and governors at a free school that was due to open in September have cancelled a meeting about its future.
Harperbury Free School was due to open last month at the former Harperbury Hospital Site, in Harpers Lane, Radlett, but the opening was delayed after it failed to secure the site in time.
The school was due to hold a public meeting about the plans on Saturday, October 18 at Fairway Hall, Borehamwood, but organisers have since taken the decision to postpone the meeting.
In a statement, the school said: “We have received considerable feedback from you and we fully understand your concerns over clarity on the site for the school. We are of course frustrated that, for legal reasons, we have been unable to tell you anything more.
“However, we are now anticipating that we will be able to make an announcement about the site within the next few weeks that we hope will satisfy those concerns. As a consequence we have decided to postpone the final open meeting.”
In the past few weeks, meetings have taken place in London Colney and Radlett.
The school will be open to pupils in Borehamwood, Radlett, Shenley and St Albans.
