A 15-year-old girl took part in a twin town's annual flower festival celebrations.
Every year, the twin town of Louveciennes in France invites a teenage girl to represent Aldenham and Radlett as part of its annual flower festival.
This year, 15-year-old Sam Kelly of Radlett joined the float of the festival queen and the German and Romanian maids of honour at the Fete des Fleurs on September 21.
A pupil of Loreto College, in St Albans, Sam and her family visited the French twin town at the end of September in a visit organised by the Radlett & Aldenham International Friendship Association.
Her mother Anita Kelly said: “What really struck me was that it seemed like the whole town had come out to celebrate the festival. It was a lovely atmosphere and the girls got to dress up like princesses for the day.
“She carried on smiling all day and really was treated like a princess, it was great fun.”
The family also were given a guided tour of the area as well as being treated to a fireworks display the night before the festival.
