Poppy appeal organisers want to beat last year's total
A coffee morning will be held to encourage volunteers to help out during the next poppy appeal.
The Royal British Legion will put on a spread of tea and cakes next week for anyone interested in signing up as a volunteer.
Poppy appeal organiser Carol Denbigh said: “Anyone interested in being a poppy appeal collector is welcome to join us for the morning.
“We want to beat last year’s total of £29,500 and need more people to help out – there’s only a few of us at the moment.”
The event will be held at the British Legion club, in Shenley Road, from 11am on October 9.
