An appeal to convert a family home into two new houses has been thrown out.
Planning officers dismissed an appeal for a first floor rear and side extension to a house in Barkston Path, Borehamwood, which would allow it to be converted into two family homes.
Proposals have now been rejected due to concerns over the development’s “ungainly, unbalanced and muddled appearance”, which inspectors felt would not be in keeping with other homes in the area.
The plans would also have left each of the two three-bedroom houses with only one parking space, which Hertsmere Council deemed not to be enough.
