Elderly tenants raised more than £400 as part of the world’s biggest coffee morning.
The event, which was held at Aldwyck’s Slade Court, in Watling Street, Radlett, included a raffle and cake auction and ended with scheme manager Joanna Noakes taking the ice bucket challenge.
She said: “The event was a great success and all the residents who attended enjoyed themselves. I was a little nervous at doing the ice bucket challenge, especially as I hate getting cold, but thankfully I did not suffer.
“The money raised by residents, local shops and the Building Research Establishment for Macmillan will help out many people in need of support.”
The £421 raised will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.
