An air ambulance service is looking for supporters to ‘go red’ to raise money for their life-saving helicopter.

Herts Air Ambulance hopes to encourage the people of Hertfordshire to get colourful and ‘go red’ next week as part of the National Air Ambulance Week.

This year, Herts Air Ambulance is urging the public to get involved by recording a short video on Facebook or Twitter saying: “I support Herts Air Ambulance and for National Air Ambulance Week I will be [insert red themed activity] and I nominate [insert name] to [insert red themed activity].”

The service is also encouraging people to donate £3 with their video via the Herts Air Ambulance website www.hertsairambulance.uk.com.

Dawn Easby, Herts Air Ambulance Fundraising Manager, said: “We really want people to have fun with this, a ‘selfie video’ is probably one of the easiest ways of getting involved and we look forward to seeing what crazy red themed activities people are prepared to do!

“Upload your video to social media today and donate £3 to help keep your local Air Ambulance flying and saving lives. We would love to see this go viral!”

The national week will take place from September 22 to 28.
