Film fans are being invited to join experts to explore the site of a former film studio.

Hertfordshire County Council’s countryside management service and film experts will explore the site of the former Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM) studios in Borehamwood, and find out about plans to commemorate the film heritage of the area.

The walk is to be held to mark the 90th anniversary of the founding of MGM, along with celebrating the 70th anniversary of the company purchasing their studios in Borehamwood in 1944.

Over the years, a number of famous films and television series were made at MGM’s Borehamwood studio including Ivanhoe, The Dirty Dozen, A Space Odyssey, and The Prisoner.

The two-mile walk starts at 12.30pm on Saturday and participants are asked to meet in the Toby Carvery car park on Studio Way.
