A concert in memory of a woman’s grandmother has raised around £800 for a cancer charity.

Borehamwood and Elstree’s Got Talent winner Gabby Niman organised the charity event for Chai Cancer Care over the weekend, and managed to raise £800 for the cause.

She performed a number of modern songs including Clown and Read all about it by Emily Sande, plus classics from musicals such as Les Miserables.

The Borehamwood and Elstree Ladies Choir, which she set up last year, also performed – along with A Sharp Trio who performed a set of string pieces.

Mrs Niman said: “I loved every minute of the concert. Singing is my passion and I hope to do many more events like this in the future.

"It was a huge success and so rewarding doing something I love and raising so much money for an incredible charity, all in my Grandmas merit who sadly died from cancer earlier this year. “

The evening also included a raffle, with prizes donated by the Orli bakery, Let's Meat, Natania Beauty and a caricature by Martyn Niman.

She added: “The feedback from the concert was fantastic! Most people there had never seen me perform before. One person said "it brought tears to my eyes", another said "it gave me goosebumps".

“I have to thank my parents Vicky and David Jacobs and my husband Martyn Niman for their huge support while I was organising this event.”
