Quizzers put their general knowledge to the test to help raise £85 for a talking newspaper service.

Those taking part in the Radlett Cat and Fiddle Pub quiz night last week put their donations towards a service used to provide the news to those who are blind or partially sighted.

A total of £85 was raised from the evening, which will be donated to the service to help it continue sending out a free weekly recording to local blind and partially sighted people in the area.

Regular quizzer and quiz master Nick Male suggested the Talking Newspaper charity to landlord Dominic Ingram after working as a volunteer at its sister organisation the Visually Impaired Club.

Chairman of the VIC David Clout said: “We all had a great evening and I should like to thank Dominic for organising the evening and his customers for the £85 donation to the funds of the talking newspaper.”
