Actor and director Lord Richard Attenborough has died just days before his 91st birthday.
The older brother to documentary presenter David Attenborough, 'Dickie' was a regular at Elstree Studios - having directed a number of films there and played a major role in a campaign to save the studios in 1988.
According to son Michael, the Oscar-winner died at lunchtime yesterday.
Many took to social media to pay their respects, including David Cameron who tweeted: "His acting in Brighton Rock was brilliant, his directing of Gandhi was stunning - Richard Attenborough was one of the greats of cinema."
