A 17-year-old boy has been charged following two assaults in Borehamwood.

The boy, who is from Borehamwood, appeared at Hatfield Remand Court today after being charged with two counts of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and two counts of allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control in a public place.

The first related to an incident in the early hours of Saturday, August 16 in Aycliffe Road, in which a 19-year-old man was assaulted.

The boy has also been charged in relation to a second incident on the morning of Sunday, August 17 in Theobald Street in which a 19-year-old man was bitten by a brown and white pit bull terrier and then attacked.

Both men required hospital treatment but have since been discharged.

Detective Sergeant Jason Finnegan said: “Whilst a person has been charged in connection to these two incidents, we would still like to locate the dog that was allegedly involved. If anyone sees this dog, or believes they know of its whereabouts, please contact me immediately via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101.”
