Care home residents and their families had a tropical afternoon as the home hosted its annual summer party.

The Mead care home, in Castleford Close, held their annual summer garden party yesterday, with beach and Caribbean themed activities on offer.

Guests and residents were provided with a mini beach with paddling pool and a ball pit, steel band, a mocktail bar, raffle and a number of stalls.

Home administrator Emma Skuce said: “Everyone seemed to have a really nice time and we had a great turn out. My Deputy Home Manager said she thought it was the best one we’d had and the weather helped with that. One of our resident’s partner said they’d both had a lovely day and he thought it was nice for everyone to get together.

“I think we’ve got great support here from staff and families alike so it was great for everyone to pull together and give our residents a nice day.”
