A campaigner is calling for speed-calming measures along a busy road.

Borehamwood resident Graham Walsh has set up a petition on the Hertfordshire County Council petition website asking for speed calming measures such as speed bumps or restrictions on Croxdale Road.

Mr Walsh says on the site: “It is so loud and keeps our children awake. Speed bumps would make the road less of a race course whilst also slowing the traffic down or reducing traffic at peak times.

“The road needs this to ensure nothing other than a pet is killed along this road.”

The petition comes as Hertfordshire Constabulary, along with forces in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire, plans to increase the number of speed checks it carries out throughout August.
