Two women have been sentenced for a total of 180 hours community work after three assaults.

Margaret Bridget Lonergan, of Stainer Road, and Deborah Louise Rooney, of Brook Road, were found guilty at St Albans Magistrates Court on July 10, after being arrested for three separate assaults.

The ‘premeditated’ attacks took place at the Shooting Star pub, in Rossington Avenue, on September 6, 2013.

As well hours a total of 180 hours community service, the pair must also pay £600 in compensation and £610 in costs.

The Borehamwood Times spoke to victim Shelley Malin about the result. She said: “They got exactly what they deserved. You can’t go around doing that to people - it is completely unacceptable behaviour for two women.

“I am very pleased with the outcome.”
