A Slimming World consultant has proved she’s a real gem after winning an award for her work in helping to tackle obesity.
Hannah Harman was delighted to receive the Slimming World ruby award after recruiting 40 new members to her High Street Borehamwood group, which meets in 96 Shenley Road, in just one month.
The award makes Mrs Harman a member of the company’s elite Ruby Century Club, which was set up in 2009 to celebrate Slimming World’s top achievers during its 40th anniversary year.
After losing more than three stone with Slimming World herself, the mother-of-two set up her own group in June and members have now lost 35 stone between them.
She said: “I’m delighted to have achieved this award. Rubies are known for being beautiful but they’re also one of the hardest natural gems, and that’s what I’m most proud of because I’m taking this award as recognition of how hard I work to support every single one of my members to achieve their weight loss goals.
"I truly believe I have the best, most rewarding job in the world – there’s no better feeling than helping someone to feel good about themselves – so winning this award really is the ruby-red cherry on top.”
