Planning permission for a school's redevelopment has been submitted today.
Hertswood Academy, which is currently based at two sites at Cowley Hill and Thrift Farm Lane, has now submitted its plans for its new development.
The plans combine both the upper and lower schools into one building, with a separate community area featuring sports facilities and a new Ark theatre.
The school hopes that the purpose-designed building will help to inspire and motivate students, while providing a welcoming and fully accessible site with a diverse range of facilities for both pupils and the community.
A document will be released along with the planning application outlining the community benefits that could be brought to Borehamwood if the development was to be accepted.
