Detectives investigating an assault in Borehamwood are appealing for witnesses and information.
A 30-year-old man was walking along Buckton Road, Borehamwood, between 2am and 3am on Saturday when a man approached and yelled at him from behind.
When the victim turned, he was hit in the face and fell to the ground when the man started kicking him before running off.
The victim suffered a broken jaw, swollen eye and nerve damage.
Detective Constable Dave Boden said: “This appears to have been a targeted attack which has left the victim with significant and painful injuries.
“I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and remembers hearing or seeing anything unusual or suspicious. However insignificant you may believe the information you have is, it may prove extremely useful to the investigation so please contact me.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC Boden via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101.
