A thanksgiving ceremony will be held this weekend to mark the 50th birthday of a Baptist church.

The Cowley Hill Free Church, in Stanborough Close, Borehamwood, was founded on July 10, 1964 and will host a special thanksgiving ceremony to mark its 50th anniversary.

Original church planter Dr Peter Masters, who is now minister at the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London, will lead the service which is to be held this Saturday from 3pm.

Refreshments will be available following the service.
