Keen golfers can tee off at a community day to celebrate a charity’s 50th anniversary.

Hertsmere Mencap, which was founded in 1964, is marking the historic occasion by organising a community golf day.

The event will be held at the Radlett Park Golf on Thursday and is to be attended by Hertsmere Mayor Councillor Carey Keates, who will present awards to the winning teams.

Refreshments and breakfast rolls will be available before the event tees off at 11am, which will include a number of special competitions for the final holes and prizes such as a Ford Ka.

A buffet supper, awards presentation, raffle and auction will follow from around 4.30pm.

Tickets for the full day are £50 each, or £45 each for a team of four, or £27.50 to attend the buffet supper and evening activities.

All money raised from the event will be donated to Hertsmere Mencap and will be used to support children and adults with learning disabilities.

Around 50 to 60 people are expected to attend but there is still room for more guests.
