Rogue traders and door-to-door salespeople have been banned from homes in a Borehamwood street.

To prevent unwelcome visits from people trying to sell goods or services, Maydwell Lodge in Anthony Road, has become a no cold calling area.

Working in partnership with Hertfordshire Constabulary, Hertfordshire County Council’s trading standards department worked to launch the scheme.

Signs have been placed on lampposts and residents have been given information packs, while the property will be displaying door stickers to alert traders that they are not welcome.

PCSO Samantha O'Grady supported the launch of the scheme.

She said: "We are pleased to have been able to work with trading standards to reassure the residents here at Maydwell Lodge. This initiative will help this community feel safer and improve their confidence in saying ‘no’ to unwanted cold callers."

Any resident who receives cold callers in the ‘zone’ can contact Hertfordshire Trading Standards on 08454 040506 or police via the non-emergency number 101.
