Work by talented young artists and arrangements of blooms have gone on show as part of this year's Borehamwood and Elstree Festival.

The Schools Art exhibition, organised by the Borehamwood and Elstree Rotary Club, was held at 96 Shenley Road and displayed work from students across the 12 primary schools and two secondary schools in the town.

As the Rotary Club does not set a theme for the display, work provided had a wide range of topics- including the town’s filmmaking centenary, Brazil and the World Cup, along with the First World War and Where The Poppies Now Grow.

Rotary Club spokesman David Clout praised the exhibition's new venue. He said: “It was great to be in Number 96 for the first time; it certainly ticked all the boxes."

The festival's annual flower show, held at All Saints Church in Shenley Road, also showed off the town's creative spirit with displays from both individuals and community groups and organisations.
