Organisers of this year's civic festival hope the sun continues to shine as the event draws to a close with the annual Families Day.

Children and their families are invited to join the town council for the day at Meadow Park.

The free event, which takes place on Saturday from 12pm to 5pm, will feature stalls and demonstrations as part of the town’s 58th festival.

A number of sports groups will also be present, including Borehamwood Youth FC and Borehamwood 2000.

Main attractions this year will include the Harry Potter Roadshow and the Essex Dog Display Team.

Deputy Mayor Councillor Richard Butler said: “It’s about everyone promoting their events or activities, for all the towns’ groups and organisations. The day has been going for a number of years and we hope this year we will have another big turnout.”

“I’ve had a great time at the festival as deputy mayor, and this will be a good way to see the festival come to an end.”

Independent Tennis will also be hosting a free event from 10am to support the Great British Tennis Weekend and the middle Saturday of Wimbledon.
