A builder is in the running for a national award for his work on new houses in Radlett.

Will Petrie was announced as a first-round winner in the annual National House Building Council ‘Pride in the Job’ Awards, which awards site managers for their achievements.

Mr Petrie, of Banner Homes Central Ltd, won the award for the Viburnum Gate site in Loom Lane, Radlett.

He joined nearly 450 quality award winners selected from around 15,000 entrants from across the country.

The winners have now been shortlisted for regional titles which will be revealed in the autumn and regional champions will then go forward to contest the national supreme winner title in January.

Nick Cunningham, regional director for NHBC, said: "For nearly 35 years, Pride in the Job has been a fundamental component of NHBC’s work to raise standards through the celebration and sharing of best practice. Site managers that win an NHBC Pride in the Job Award are creating houses of an exceptionally good standard.

"The homes Will has built in Radlett are without doubt among the best in the UK."
