The Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire delivered his annual lecture on crime this week.

in his talk, commissioner David Lloyd lecture discussed the changing face of crime and how all organisations can and should play a role in preventing it.

The event, hosted by the University of Hertfordshire and attended by senior police officers and dignitaries, was Mr Lloyd's second formal speech after his inaugural lecture last year.

Mr Lloyd also considered how crime and social attitudes have changed, along with how the policing needs to change in order to meet the challenges that arise as a result.

He said: “The nature of crime is shifting away from the streets into our homes and online, which demands a different type of police response, yet we still demand a visible police presence on our streets. This remains important. I am proud to be able to have saved local neighbourhood policing through efficient and effective use of the budget.”
