College shows off students' talents with art exhibition
A college celebrated its students’ artistic talent with an exhibition of their work.
Yavneh College, in Hillside Avenue, Borehamwood, held an exhibition for their art students on Tuesday evening.
The exhibition aimed to celebrate the artistic achievements of Year 11 pupils, who have been studying for their GCSEs.
Pupils’ final pieces, along with sketchbooks and initial design ideas, were laid out for parents and fellow pupils to view.
Student Leah Winton, who hopes to study art at university, said art was one of her biggest passions.
She said: “Art is definitely my ‘thing’- it can be really stressful and hard at times, but it’s definitely something I want to do as a career in the future.
“The whole year is exceptionally talented and have all done very well with their final pieces.”
The exhibition featured a variety of different pieces, ranging from portraits and graphic paintings designed on an iPad to sculptures and costume designs.
Headteacher Spencer Lewis said: "We were so delighted with this year’s art exhibition. The standard of the pupils’ work was exceptional and their creativity and talented really shone through. I know that the staff, parents and pupils were extremely proud."
A number of families attended the event, along with Rotarians Charles Kelly and current president Cynthia Barker.
