Residents can attend an open day at the new police station this weekend.

The new Borehamwood police station at Hertsmere Borough Council Civic Offices, in Elstree Way, will open this Saturday.

As well as a bouncy castle and opportunities to get their fingerprints taken, visitors can speak to teams including the community safety unit, firearms, dog unit and rural specials.

Hertsmere neighbourhood inspector Richard Johnson said: “We look forward to holding our open day at our new police patrol base at Hertsmere Civic Offices. We hope residents will come along and speak to their local neighbourhood teams and enjoy a great family day out."

Officers will begin moving into the station next week, and an official launch will be held in July.

The opening will be held between 1 and 4pm on Saturday.
