Annual festival kicks off today with town parade

The annual Borehamwood and Elstree civic festival kicks off today with this year's carnival parade.

Around 20 floats will join the parade and Brazilian-themed carnival, which leaves Brook Road Car Park at 1.45pm.

The parade will proceed along Shenley Road to Theobald Street, Aycliffe Road and Leeming Road before heading back to Brook Road about 3.30pm.

The theme of the carnival is 'Made in Elstree' to celebrate 100 years of film-making in Elstree & Borehamwood...the band was a Brazilian samba band.
