A football club has submitted a planning application to help expand its growing education scheme.

The application is for the retention of Boreham Wood FC’s four existing prefabricated buildings, along with the construction of a further three in the car park and grass verge of the club grounds.

It is planned that these new facilities will be used for educational purposes associated with the club’s existing PASE programme.

The PASE scheme, which aims to stop talented footballers from falling through the net, currently has more than 250 pupils training at the grounds - with education provided at Cohenel and Barnet and Southgate College.

However, the club now hopes its new plans will allow it to extend the programme and provide education facilities to accompany the physical programme held at the club.

Plans for a new permanent purpose-built education and community centre are in the early stages of development, including sourcing funding partners.
