The ‘hero’ of a fatal crash in Watling Street on Tuesday evening has now been released from hospital.

Watford resident John Moore, 33, pulled a motorcyclist and driver away from their burning vehicles after a crash that occurred at around 6.50pm on Tuesday evening.

The 33-year-old man was taken to hospital in a stable condition, but has now been released.

His partner, Theresa Cosgrove, also assisted at the scene by holding the hand of the motorcyclist as they waited for the emergency services.

Mr Moore’s mother contacted The Borehamwood Times as she was ‘very proud’ of her son.

She added: “He has a heart of gold and is always helping people. I got the shock of my life when I saw him in hospital yesterday.

“The whole family are so proud of him.”
