Labour has gained one seat in Thursday's Hertsmere Borough Council elections.
The party took the Borehamwood Kenilworth ward, which was previously held by Conservative councillor Pat Strack.
Labour candidate Jon Galliers took the seat with 595 votes, a little over 100 more than Conservative Pat Strack's 485, with former Labour councillor Frank Ward taking 413 votes for UKIP.
Cllr Galliers said he was very pleased with the result and wanted to thank all those who supported his campaign and voted for him.
